Daddy’s Little Girl
Just in time for Father’s Day!
Want to know who your daughters will end up marrying? Well, if they have a good relationship with their father, it may very well be someone who closely resembles the most important man in their lives.
A new study has just announced that women who were “daddy’s girls” most likely would be attracted to men who really do look like their father! Yes, this was a real scientific study. And a very interesting one at that. The scientists actually asked women about their relationships with their own fathers. Then showed them photos of men who looked like dear old dad and those who didn’t. The women with strong, positive ties to their dads, stated that they found the similar looking men more attractive.
This may be the ultimate tribute to our fathers 
A Safer Way To Clean?
Whether they are safer or not, “green” cleaning products are starting to show up on more and more store shelves. These products are becoming mainstream in supermarkets and chain stores such as Target. This has actually been on my mind lately after seeing some of the questions regarding safe cleaning that our users have posted on MothersClick.
According to this interesting article an increasing number of moms are turning to more natural cleaning products. They are hearing the message that some of the toxic ingredients in the cleaners we’ve all used for years could be harmful to our kids. Obviously we all know how dangerous these can potentially be, as we’d never allow our kids to get near the bottles.
But do they work? The article states that many do work just as well. And it also points out that this trend is forcing the larger manufacturers, such as Johnson Wax who makes Windex, to come up with their own alternative products.
Whether or not these newer, greener, products are actually safer for our families, homes or the environment has yet to be proven. Although it seems many believe it just makes sense to use these over the more traditional cleaners.
A Different Super Bowl Sunday
OK, so it’s not like I missed the whole game, but it was a different Super Bowl experience this year. I’ve always been a huge sports fan, especially the NFL, and I don’t think I’ve missed a Super Bowl since I was 10 years old. When else do have the excuse to eat chips and dip for dinner? Smile
For the past 7 or 8 years I’ve been hosting a Super Bowl party, and this year was no exception. But boy, what a different crowd . Usually no one is under the age of 21! But yesterday, our home was filled with little ones running all over the place. Tough to watch the game when you’ve got to be worried about who’s hand just went into the guacamole!
I’ll admit, I snuck away from the kids long enough to see some great plays. And my daughter was the hit of the party with her touchdown pose every time we yelled “touchdown”. Mommy’s little girl.
I guess it’s something to get used to for the next couple of years. Funny how as soon as you suddenly have kids, you also have new friends, who also happen to have kids. But hey, that’s what the whole “mommy” community is about!
I can’t complain too much, the team I was rooting for won. And from I’ve read today, the game was pretty boring for those who were fortunate enough to be able to sit down and watch the whole thing. Now, if I could just recover from this junk food hangover!
